•  Pregnant or nursing moms are not candidate at this time. 
• Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water. 

•  Stop use of accutane.  

•  No injectables (dermal fillers, neurotoxins, PRP/PRF, thread lifts, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, microneedling, lasering, etc. 

•  Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning.
• Apply SPF 30-50+ mineral sunscreen on all areas intended for treatment daily. 
• No tanning, tanning beds, self-tanners
• Use additional protective measures: hats, sunglasses, sun protective clothing. 
• No beauty cosmetic procedures, including but not limited to: facials, waxing, threading, eyebrow tinting/lamination, eyelash lifts/ tinting, and permanent makeup. 
• Keep your skin moisturized by using hyaluronic acid. 

•  Avoid exfoliates (scrubs, washes, and other treatments that remove the outermost part of the skin).
• Discontinue the use of retinols, AHA/BHA, abrasive exfoliations/scrubs, topical steroids and tretinoin in the intended area of treatment.
• Start/continue use of hyaluronic acid. 
• No use of photosensitizing medications including: doxycycline, minocycline, and tetracycline.
• Shave the treatment area one day prior to procedure, if necessary.
• Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water for several days in advance of the treatment. For the best results, drink at least 4 cups of water per day for at least 2 days prior to your appointment. 

•  If you have a history of cold sores, please take prescription antiviral 24 hours before treatment.  Continue to take for 10 days post-procedure or as directed by your primary care doctor. 
• Shave the treatment area one day prior to procedure, if necessary.

•  Arrive with clean skin, free of any makeup, cosmetic products, perfumes, or lotions.
• Do not use mascara or wear contact lenses.
• Carry a clean hat and sunglasses for sun protection after the treatment.
• If necessary, we provide make-up cleaning products.
• Notify the provider if you develop cold sore, acne, open lesions to the treated area or experience illness prior to your treatment.

Timeframe: Typically, it takes around 10 minutes for the eyes and 30-40 minutes for the entire face, with varying durations for other treated areas. 

Application: Thermal nitrogen plasma pulses are administered using a handpiece. Our office currently exclusively provides low and medium energy treatments that don't necessitate anesthetics. These treatments offer similar skin rejuvenation benefits without the side effects of extensive skin peeling associated with higher energy settings.
